Another wonderful sighting of our awesome class widgets was made last night by us that we wanted to share. Inner Strength Gym, based in Brooklyn, CT, recently installed both widgets we currently offer (first, second) and they really look great. It's exciting, and very important that we continue to add to the list of organizations that are using our widgets.
As mentioned in the previous post about our class widgets, we had a great idea suggested to us yesterday for a new type of class widget to offer. Aside from the first widget that we rolled out, which allows you to embed your entire schedule of upcoming classes on your site (designed to be the main content of the given page), we just released a new widget that simply shows your classes for today.
The owner over at CrossFit Cincinnati let me in on some very cool news late last night that I had to share, and it wasn't even that they just joined Workout Spots and began using our platform to host their classes. They are now using our new class widgets to embed their upcoming class schedule right inside their own website.
Just a quick heads-up that we'll be going down for maintenance and upgrades at around 11:30PM EST (give or take a few). The downtime is expected to be 30 minutes long - which will be our longest downtime ever. Most of our updates are either rolled out in minutes, or without any downtime at all. There are a few critical fixes and improvements that must be deployed and take quick some time to run. While the site is down, class widgets (embedded on your site) will not be responding. As soon as we're back up, they will resume normal functionality.
A big thanks to Deborah Bailey of The Secrets of Success for letting me guest blog on the site! I think blogs like The Secrets of Success are important and necessary because they help entrepreneurs learn from one anothers successes and failures. I posted this blog in hopes to inspire other entrepreneur couples like Mike and I to take the leap and create something together!
We've got some exciting news - it's probably the coolest new feature we've released since launching. What better way to start the weekend, right? This comes from not only our strive to cater to all of the needs of the businesses using our software, but also our quest to become a powerful, legitimate class registration platform for the fitness industry. We put the business-end as top priority.
A big thanks to Genevieve Shaw Brown for including a mention about Workout Spots in an article posted to ABC News today. It's certainly exciting to see our first debut on a major news outlet. I was unaware of the article until I noticed referral traffic from abcnews.go.com - which is great because that means our brand is growing to the point where writers and reporters know to include us in related news. I sure hope that continues.
